At Industrial Floor Treatments (Stone) Ltd, all our operatives are fully trained in the latest application techniques and holders of CSCS cards.

Prior to 2002, the Resin Flooring part of the Construction Industry had no formally recognised qualifications or training programme for operatives, the whole responsibility resting upon materials manufacturers and specialist contractors, with no input or support being received from the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) or any other body.

In 2001 the CITB responded to this difficulty and formed an Occupational Working Group with a view to establishing a formal NVQ system of training and assessment for operatives in the resin flooring industry.

The NVQ's encompassing Surface Preparation Techniques and the application of Resin Floor Coatings, Resin Floor Screeds and Resin Self Levelling Toppings are now in place with work shortly commencing on Trowel Applied Cement Based Floor Screeds and Pumpable Floor Screeds.

The mandatory elements of the NVQ's include the following units, which although designed around Construction Site requirements, are applicable in all other working environments such as live factories, workshops, etc:

A wide variety of surface preparation and laying equipment is employed with qualified operators fully conversant with their use.

All electrical plant is tested and tagged by a qualified electrician with all other plant being regularly serviced by a qualified mechanic.
